Gina Ellison, 22: Disappeared In 1990 During Her Routine Evening Jog
Her husband has been named as a person of interest, but Gina's case remains unsolved.
Although there has yet to be concrete evidence showing that Gina Ellison met with foul play, authorities believe that the 22-year-old may have encountered some level of danger. Gina was living in San Jose, California, with her husband, Andray Vance Ellison, when she vanished on June 19, 1990.
According to reports, Gina Ellison left her home at the San Marino Apartments at approximately 8:00 p.m. to take her daily evening jog. The naval reserve’s petty officer regularly made the 2.7-ish mile run, which was not unusual in her routine, so it was a shock when she never returned. When she left, Gina didn’t take cash, her keys, or credit cards.

A Husband Told His Version Of Events
According to Andray Ellison, he was at home practicing the guitar when he noticed his wife’s run was taking longer than usual. Two hours after she left the apartment, Ellison claimed he saw a patrol vehicle passing by his apartment and flagged them down to alert them about his wife.
An immediate search did not uncover any evidence. While many have suspected Ellison was involved in his wife’s disappearance, he was reportedly cooperative with the police within the first few months of the investigation.
However, detectives learned that things were not well in the Ellison household. Gina’s loved ones told authorities that she mentioned that she wanted to leave her husband. There was a point when Gina did just that, but because she began struggling financially, she returned to Ellison.
In another instance that occurred two years before her disappearance, Gina reportedly attempted to take her own life while arguing with her husband. Following that altercation, she underwent a psychiatric evaluation.
Ellison Lands In Prison—But Not For His Wife’s Disappearance
Four months after Gina went missing, Ellison’s trouble with authorities took a turn. He reportedly worked as an information systems operator at the U.S. Air Force’s Blue Cube but was let go after a drug test came up positive. It is unclear what substances were alerted.
Then, seven months after Gina’s disappearance, Ellison was on the wrong side of the law after he admitted to being responsible for a string of Bay Area bank robberies. He was convicted for two of those incidents and was sentenced to 16 years in prison. Ellison was paroled back in 1999.
Although he has been considered a suspect, authorities have not made any arrests in this case. Detailed information about search efforts or updates on the status of this investigation has not been provided.

At the time of her disappearance, Gina Ellison stood 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 128 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her middle name is “Marie.” Gina was last seen wearing black Spandex bicycle shorts, a light blue and pink tank top, and a thin gold chain with a one-half Mizpah coin attached.
