Felicia Coleman, 23: Remains Identified 20 Years After She Went Missing
She was very close with her loved ones.
*UPDATE* In July 2021, the remains of Felicia Coleman were identified. She went missing in 2001, and while her remains were located three weeks later, a medical examiner listed the remains as belonging to a "younger Black man."
Those findings were changed in 2011 after the Office of the Medical Examiner re-examined the case. It is still unknown how she died, but it is reportedly suspected to be a homicide.
“It’s devastating,” Coleman’s brother, William Watson, told WRAL News. “You’re angry, but at the same time you’re sad, and you’re confused. You have a lot of questions, and no one has answers.”
“No matter how long it is, it still hurts the same, because it’s my sister, you know?” Janice Thompson said. “She left behind kids, a family, my mother, my brothers, my sister.”
They continue to seek justice for Felicia.

Original Story:
Back in 2001, the city of Goldsboro, North Carolina, found itself confronted with a missing person case that hadn’t moved in quite some time. Felicia Coleman was last seen on November 9, 2001, but since then, no one has been in contact with the 23-year-old.
That fall, Felicia Coleman was seen somewhere near Holly Street and Carolina Street in Goldsboro. Why she was at the location or who she may have been with remains a mystery, but what is known is that she was never seen or heard from again.
Some investigators believed that Felicia may have left of her own accord; however, there hasn’t been any movement or activity on her bank accounts. Felicia was also the mother of three children and was close to her family. She kept in contact with her loved ones, as well, and would regularly visit one of her children who was in the hospital at the time.
