Yuette Wabbington, 33: Left Home & Never Returned In 1997
When she left her home, she told her relatives she would return in the evening for a family gathering.
The Druid Hills neighborhood in Birmingham, Alabama, is often referred to by some as the heart of the city. There are museums, eateries, and venues for sports, concerts, and Broadway plays. The historic city is known as the center of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s, and the bigotry within its borders has been well documented. Still, over 200,000 people who call the city home love its pace and culture. However, a mystery is plaguing the local family of Yuette Wabbington.

There isn’t very much information about Yuette, but it is reported that she was last seen on October 10, 1997. It was then that Yuette was seen leaving her mother’s Druid Hills residence, where the 33-year-old also lived with her two children. It is unclear where Yuette was off to, but it was not unusual for her to walk to a neighbor’s house for short visits.
Yuette reportedly told her loved ones that she would return that evening for a family gathering, but she did not come home. The following day, her family filed a missing person report. They claimed it was not in Yuette’s character to wander off or leave without alerting her loved ones. Reports state that Yuette was a homebody and was not in the habit of leaving her residence for lengthy periods.
The investigation into this case is unknown. No persons of interest or suspects have been named in public reports, and while foul play has been considered, it is unclear what leads authorities have followed up on throughout the years. Yuette’s personal life is also an unknown, as her relationships and work history have not been shared.
Yuette Wabbington: What To Know
At the time of her disappearance, Yuette Wabbington stood 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 140 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair (styled in shoulder-length braids that were loose at the scalp, possibly from new growth) and brown eyes.
Yuette reportedly had a gold tooth on the right side of her mouth. She was last seen wearing dark-colored jeans, gym shoes, and a red-and-white striped Tommy Hilfiger designer shirt. She had a noticeable slender build. Her DNA and fingerprints are not on file, but her dental records are available.
