Valina Magee: 13-Year-Old Vanishes From Chicago In 1989

It is always surprising to come across missing-person cases involving children that have little to no information. It would seem there would be an overwhelming number of news reports about kids who disappeared, only to be seen again, but that isn't the case with Valina Magee. It was around 9:00 a.m. on June 28, 1989, when the 13-year-old was walking in Chicago's South Side on her way to school when she disappeared.

There have been conflicting reports about the spelling of Valina Magee’s last name, with some sources listing it as “McGee” or “McGhee.”
Also, some agencies have listed the day the teen went missing as June 29. Unfortunately, often children around Valina’s age are treated as runaways by authorities, or their cases aren’t investigated thoroughly.
All these decades later, Valina remains missing, little has been reported, and there are many unanswered questions as to how much information the Chicago Police Department was able to collect back in 1989. It’s unknown if there were ever any suspects in her case.
Valina Magee: What To Know
At the time of her disappearance, Valina Magee stood 5 feet 3 inches tall and 120 pounds. She had black/dark brown curly hair and brown eyes. It’s reported that Valina was last seen wearing black checkered shorts and a white turtleneck sweater. The Doe Network reports that her dental records and fingerprints aren’t available, but her DNA is available for comparison.
