Tomeka Jefferson, 27: Still Missing After BF Was Found Murdered in 1996
He was found shot to death two months after he and Tomeka were last seen together.
It had been two days since Courtney Williams's roommate had contact with him before he reported him missing. The last time anyone saw the 27-year-old was on February 15, 1996, while Courtney was with his girlfriend, 24-year-old Tomeka Jefferson. The couple was at Courtney's apartment in Ellicott City, Maryland, when Tomeka reportedly spoke with her relatives in the evening. It was around 10:00 p.m. when she told them she and Courtney planned to go out, but what happened to the couple remains a mystery.
It would take four days for Tomeka's loved ones to report her as a missing person. It's unclear where the couple was headed on their night out, but they were never seen alive again. Tomeka was a responsible woman, so people grew even more concerned when she didn't show up for work at a Baltimore law firm where she was employed as a legal clerk. Then, on February 21, the investigation into the missing couple gained steam after Tomeka's car was found behind an apartment building in a high-crime area. It's unknown what evidence was found inside the 1995 Nissan Quest. However, the vehicle had been abandoned in an area known for drug activity.
