Tammy Jarvis, 20: Last Seen Being Assaulted By Her Boyfriend In 1989
Her boyfriend was reportedly holding a shotgun at the time.
Like many other cases here on Our Black Girls, there isn’t much known about Tammy Jarvis or the circumstances leading up to her disappearance.
There aren’t many news reports about the 20-year-old, but what has been shared suggests she met with foul play. In May 1989, Tammy reportedly lived with her aunt in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was on May 10 when neighbors told authorities they last saw Tammy being dragged into the backyard by her boyfriend, who was allegedly holding a shotgun at the time. He hasn’t been named in reports.

Sadly, no one has seen or heard from Tammy Jarvis since. Reports state that the boyfriend above has never been charged with any crime in connection with the young mother’s disappearance, but three years later, in 1992, he was arrested and convicted of second-degree murder. He reportedly killed his then-girlfriend and has been in prison ever since. The extent of the investigation into Tammy’s boyfriend is unclear.
Tammy Jarvis: What To Know
At the time of her disappearance, Tammy Jarvis stood 5 feet inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. There has been no information shared regarding what she may have been wearing the last time she was seen, nor are there any details regarding distinguishing marks, scars, tattoos, or similar features. She would be 51 years old at the time of this publication. Her middle name is “Ann.” According to The Doe Network, Tammy’s fingerprints and DNA are not available.
