Patricia Gambles, 21: Mysterious Murder Continues To Baffle Authorities
The 1998 rape and murder of this young woman has remained unsolved for decades.
This is another case that, because of time and resources, doesn't have much to any information available to report. The Project Cold Case Database includes a mysterious incident involving 21-year-old Patricia Gambles, a case that hasn't moved since the summer of 1988.
On August 11 that year, Patricia, her friend, and a few co-workers visited a Worthington Springs, Florida, store. There was nothing suspicious about the group, and by all accounts, they went their separate ways without conflict or disputes.
The following day, a gruesome discovery was made in a wooded area near County Road 131. The dead body of a Black woman was spotted on a tram road, partially clothed. She was also wrapped in plastic and a green blanket. Sadly, the victim was identified as Patricia. The investigation revealed that she had been raped before being strangled.
Patricia Gambles: What To Know
Those who were the last to see Patricia alive and everyone connected to her personally and professionally, were questioned. Still, there wasn't any information that brought detectives closer to finding the monster who took Patricia's life. There has never been a suspect named in the case, and Patricia's murder has gone unsolved for over three decades.
