A friend alerted authorities that a New Jersey woman had disappeared. By the time Nakita M. Williams was reported missing on January 27, 2025, more than five weeks had passed since her last recorded contact. The 36-year-old was last seen on Bergen Street in Newark, Essex County, but the circumstances leading to her disappearance have not been publicly explained.
According to a February 2025 report by Patch, Newark authorities were searching for Nakita and identified several places she was known to frequent. These included Scheerer Avenue near Hunterdon Street and the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue.
Police described Nakita as wearing a green bubble coat, blue jeans, and white Nike sneakers. Her black hair was styled in two round ponytails. Investigators did not say who last saw her, where she was headed, or whether anyone heard from her after she left Bergen Street.
