Linda McCord, Sarah Boyd, & 2-Year-Old Kimberly Boyd Disappear In 1987
The trio were traveling home from a gospel concert.
This mystery has stumped investigators for decades. It was the evening of April 3, 1987, when 31-year-old Linda McCord, 32-year-old Sarah Boyd, and Sarah's two-year-old daughter, Kimberly Boyd, were traveling together on their way home from a gospel concert in Walterboro, South Carolina.
They were making their way to Dorchester County, South Carolina, heading toward Orangeburg County when they vanished.

Their vehicle, a blue Lincoln, was seen by a witness traveling between 30 and 45 miles per hour. Another vehicle was traveling behind them, but no one could identify the car or the person behind the wheel for detectives.
Two days later, the blue Lincoln was found abandoned near the intersection of Highway 15 and 176 in Dorchester County by Linda’s husband. Investigators examined the vehicle and saw that a freeze plug had blown out and the engine had overheated.
Sarah’s husband, Phillip Boyd, told police that he returned home at midnight to find that his wife and daughter had not yet made it home. He said that he wasn’t necessarily worried about it and thought that they were either en route or possibly stopped to stay with relatives. However, when he discovered that they hadn’t made it back by 6:00 a.m., he became worried and called authorities.
Neither the women nor the toddler has been seen or heard from since.
There was activity on Sarah’s credit card, reportedly used three years after her disappearance at a local mall. Unfortunately, the signature on the receipt couldn’t be deciphered, but authorities did determine that the writing didn’t belong to Sarah.
The person behind the mysterious purchase has never been identified. Police believe that the two women and the child are endangered missing persons.
