Fannette Pinkston, 33: Last Seen in Detroit in 1983, May Have Been Hitchhiking
She reportedly took rides from strangers frequently.
Some believe that Fannette Pinkston may have met with a nefarious character somewhere during her travels. Details about the circumstances surrounding Fannette's missing person case are few, but I've included what has been shared about the 33-year-old's disappearance.
It was sometime during the winter holiday season from the end of 1983 to the beginning of 1984 when Fannette Pinkston was last seen by her relatives in Detroit, Michigan. It's unclear if she was a resident of the Motor City or if she was living in Ohio, where she graduated from Withrow High School in 1969. Fannette then went to study English at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Multiple agencies state that, according to the relatives, Fannette was known to hitchhike and did so frequently. It's suggested that she may have attempted to hitchhike back to Cincinnati, Ohio, or some other city in the Buckeye State. Fannette has never been seen or heard from again and there isn't much information made available in her case.
This case has been removed from the NamUs database, indicating that there may have been a resolution. However, that is speculative as no agency has given any public updates.
