Diane Scott, 39: Disappeared in 2001 After Taking Her Kids to School
There was a person of interest tied to her disappearance.
The exact date when Diane Scott went missing remains under debate, but a report was filed on May 24, 2001. The 39-year-old mother was said to have taken her children to school, but when it came time for her to pick them up, she never made it.

After Diane dropped off her children on the morning of May 5, she was never seen again. “That brought a lot of suspicion, I mean, what mother forgets to pick up their kid at school,” said Detective Bryan Jackson with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s office. It didn't take long for Diane's loved ones to contact one another with the news that she couldn't be located. Her brother, Kevin Thomas, immediately made his way to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to investigate.
A Person Of Interest Tracked Down But Not Named
“The moment I got to Harrisburg, I knew something wasn’t right. I mean, she’s not a disappearing kind of person,” Kevin said. The investigation by authorities only yielded one person of interest, but their name is being withheld since they haven't been charged with any crime. Det. Jackson told reporters that the person of interest has been questioned numerous times over the years, but nothing has come of the discussions.
The Charley Project reports Diane's estranged husband was questioned and said he did not see his wife the day she disappeared. Authorities haven't named him as a suspect.
“We just keep coming up with a dead-end,” said Jackson. Two decades later, police are no closer to figuring out what happened to Diane Scott. One nagging clue was a large-sized tub missing from Diane's residence. Diane was petite, so it's speculated that something may have happened at her home. Det. Jackson stated he concluded that Diane was deceased. Her family members regularly check in with morgues and coroner offices when bodies are located to see if Diane's remains have been found.
“I don’t think I’ll ever put this to rest until I know what happened, and I'll always have that feeling that it's possible she might walk back in one day,” Kevin added.
