A New Orleans mother has been missing since March after police say she picked up a man who was later named a person of interest in her disappearance.
Christine Wiltz, 34, was last seen during the early morning hours of March 27, 2026. According to the New Orleans Police Department, Christine picked up 42-year-old McArthur Mackey sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. while driving her 2009 Lincoln MKX.
Police later warned that Christine could be at high risk for exploitation or serious physical harm. Her cousin recently told OurBlackGirls that Christine was working as a sex worker at the time she disappeared, a detail the family believes may be relevant as investigators try to reconstruct her final known movements.
Months later, her relatives are still waiting to learn what happened to her.

Police Named McArthur Mackey A Person Of Interest
Investigators identified Mackey shortly after Christine vanished. WDSU reported that NOPD described him as having a documented history of violence and said he was reported missing around the same time as Christine.
Christine’s sister previously said she had only recently met Mackey and believed Christine picked him up before taking him to her home.
On April 3, Mackey was taken into custody in Lawrence County, Mississippi, on a probation matter connected to an earlier case. Christine’s cousin told OurBlackGirls that Mackey remains in custody, but the family does not know whether New Orleans detectives have questioned him about Christine’s disappearance or what information, if any, he has provided.
Mackey has not been publicly charged in connection with Christine’s disappearance.
Her Family Is Searching For Christine And Caring For Her Children
The uncertainty surrounding Christine’s disappearance has extended beyond the search itself. Her cousin told OurBlackGirls that Christine has several children who are currently in state custody. She has been working to obtain custody of them so they can have a stable home with family while efforts to find their mother continue.
The family also took its search public. In an interview with WWL Louisiana, Christine’s relatives appealed for anyone with information to come forward as the months without contact continued.
Further, police described her 2009 Lincoln MKX as having visible damage to the rear passenger side.
