Her cousin, Rekisha Scott, spoke with Fox 26 Houston last year and stated that Charita was known in her South Park neighborhood. She was usually seen walking around or riding her bike near her boyfriend’s home around Bellfort Ave and Mykawa Road.
"If you ride up and down here, you're going to always see Charita,” said Rekisha. “You can always lay your eyes on her and when we couldn't, it just didn’t make sense… She’s not the type of person to just wander off and to not come back home. That's just not her.”
"It kind of hurts, like, she's not around and I couldn't find her. I did my best trying to find her, but I couldn't," said her cousin, James McGlory. "We was hearing about a white van and a Hispanic male was riding around taking people. Two more ladies were missing in this area around the same time Charita was missing.”
Although the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) reports that Charita was last seen on October 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that her last date of contact was October 22.
