For years, a family in South Carolina has been pleading with the public to help locate Chaka Wood. A quick online search will turn up a handful of news stories that have been updated from one year to the next, but there does not seem to be any new information or developments.

According to reports, Chaka was last seen at church at approximately 5:30 p.m. on February 15, 2017, in Gaffney, South Carolina.

Chaka reportedly called a friend to pick her up, but what happened to the 32-year-old after that sighting is unknown. It isn’t even clear if she met with her friend.

While there are some reports about Chaka Wood and her disappearance, details about her missing-person case remain scarce. Nothing has been said about her personal life, and what she may have been doing leading up to going missing has not been shared.

“I got with the police but they say no crime has been committed. So, each day it’s just a prayer going up to heaven asking the Lord to bring her home safe,” Chaka’s mother, Barbara Wood, told reporters in February 2021.

“Anybody who’s had a child, you feel the emptiness. Anyone that has children after the four years she hasn’t been seen, surely they want to see their mother, surely they want to be able to run and hug their mother.”

Chaka Wood: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Chaka Wood stood 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 130 to 140 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes.

Chaka was last seen wearing a pink jacket with a fur-lined hood, jeans, and black boots. Police reportedly stated that Chaka is known to use aliases. Her middle name is “Jay.” Chaka has no teeth and may walk with a slight limp.

A heartbroken mother has continuously been searching for her daughter, Lucinda Farris, ever since the 29-year-old disappeared from North Carolina in 2020.

The last time Marie Farris saw her daughter, Lucinda was leaving Marie's home on the southwestern side of Winston-Salem. She is said to have left the residence with a friend but was never seen or heard from again.

It is unclear why it took months for Lucinda to be classified as missing, but an official report was not filed until June 2020. In January 2021, Marie spoke with local news station WXII about how “excruciating” it has been not knowing where her daughter is or if she is in danger.

“It’s been kind of devastating not hearing her texting me, knocking on my door, calling me, it’s just a mother's intuition we can tell when something is wrong,” said Marie. “She lights up a room, she makes you laugh, if she can help you, she can help you. She’s a giving person, she doesn’t bother anybody.”

Police Shared Their Theories

At the time of Marie’s interview, police believed that Lucinda may still be alive somewhere between Winston-Salem and Atlanta. It is about a five-hour driving distance between the two cities.

Investigators reportedly have a person of interest, but the individual has not been named publicly. Authorities were hoping to talk with other potential witnesses who may have seen Lucinda during the time of her disappearance to establish a more concrete timeline of events. What Lucinda and her friend planned to do after they left Marie’s home was unknown, but the police seemed to have a theory.

“The person she was last seen with, we believe they may have caused her harm,” said Winston-Salem police Homicide Detective Michael Ognosky.

Marie also added, “It’s a hurting feeling to not know that she is here or gone. If you know anything just come forth please I am begging you — come forth and let me know that my daughter is fine.”

Lucinda Farris: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Lucinda Farris stood 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 105 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. She had several scars: right elbow, right cheek, left cheek, and left wrist. The exact dimensions of those scars are unknown. Lucinda also had a flower tattoo on her upper right arm.

Her middle name is “Denise,” and she went by the nicknames “Cindy” and “Sweet P.” Lucinda may or may not have a chipped front tooth (see photos included in this article).

March marked thirteen years since anyone had seen Latrice Maze. Back in 2013, on the morning of March 19 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, police were dispatched to Latrice's home that she shared with her boyfriend, Jahleel Hoskins.

According to reports, a call came in that stated there was a domestic assault occurring at the residence, but when authorities arrived, they claimed they couldn't find any evidence to support the claims that there had been a physical altercation. Latrice was reportedly planning to move out of the home she shared with Hoskins and called the police after she claimed that he grabbed her. That was the last time anyone saw the mother of five.

When Latrice’s family couldn’t get in contact with her, they immediately reported her as a missing person the following day. Almost immediately, Hoskins was a person of interest, and on March 21, police visited him to ask about Latrice’s whereabouts.

He told them he didn’t know where she was. Forensics technicians combed through the home looking for any evidence of foul play. A little over a month later, there was movement in the case after Jahleel Hoskin’s cousin, Gregory Shanklin, was arrested and charged with perjury. Hoskins was taken into custody as well, at first for a parole violation, but later he was hit with a murder charge.

The Case Takes A Turn After The Cousin Tells All

This missing person quickly shifted gears after Shanklin made a shocking claim—a story that he would later share with a packed courtroom. According to Gregory Shanklin, Hoskins told him that he’d killed Latrice Maze. Hoskins allegedly informed his cousin that he’d choked Maze at their home and then wrapped her up in a sheet he’d taken from Maze’s daughter’s bed before disposing of her body in a dumpster.

Further, Shanklin said Hoskins relayed the story to him two weeks after the incident allegedly occurred. Hoskins and Latrice were reportedly fighting that day because a month prior, Hoskins got into an argument with the father of two of Latrice’s children, Kenneth Harris, at a local bar. During that altercation, Hoskins, who was on parole, stabbed Harris, and Latrice was a witness. He didn’t want to return to jail.

Shanklin also testified that the dumpster where Hoskins disposed of Latrice’s remains was at the Peppercorn Apartments in Wyoming. Friends and family members of Latrice openly wept in the courtroom.

Hoskins Admits To Murder

After adamantly denying that he had anything to do with her disappearance, Hoskins cried in court as he admitted to choking and killing his girlfriend. Even with the tearful admission, a judge handed down a sentence of 50 to 100 years in prison—and it didn’t take long for Jahleel Hoskins’s true colors to shine. He reportedly became loud and angry, but it didn’t make any difference. He is locked behind bars.

To this day, Latrice’s remains have yet to be recovered. She’s still listed as a missing person in the NamUs database. I sincerely hope that her loved ones can one day lay her to rest.

Once again, like many other women I've reported on here, there isn't much information available about the missing-person case involving Keyshia Graham. Personal details about Keyshia or her lifestyle are unknown, but agencies report that she was last seen in San Francisco on December 29, 1999, four days after Christmas.

Stories like this about Lutricia Ann Smith Thompson are a classic example of why I decided to launch Our Black Girls. For decades, no one has known what happened to the Pascagoula, Mississippi resident and 19-year-old mother.

It’s stated by the National Missing & Unidentified Persons System that at the time of her disappearance back in 1988, there wasn’t even an investigation into her case. She was a teen who had just given birth on August 11 and disappeared some five to six weeks later, but authorities reportedly refused to take her missing person case seriously.

The Story Of A Serial Killer

In 1982, a man named Samuel Little was arrested in Pascagoula for the murder of Melinda Rose LáPree. According to reports, the 22-year-old had vanished in the Fall. However, he wasn’t indicted for her murder.

Little would then be charged for a series of other murders of women in various states, including California, Florida, and Ohio. He’s been accused of murder in Florida, but he was acquitted during the trial after the character of the witnesses was brought into question. In 1984, a young woman he’d beaten and strangled survived her attack. Just one month later, he was found at the same location with a woman he’d also attacked and strangled. He was sentenced to serve only a little over two years for both crimes.

Things unfolded for Little and his victims when, in 2012, he was taken into custody at a homeless shelter over a narcotics charge. After running his DNA through the system, authorities found that he was linked to several murders from the 1980s—all in Los Angeles.

Since then, authorities have investigated close to 100 cases in which Little may have been involved throughout the United States. Little died in prison in 2020. Whether or not Samuel Little is being investigated in connection with Lutricia’s disappearance is undisclosed, along with many other potential cases.

A Family Has Questions For Police

While Little was under investigation, Lutricia’s family contacted investigators to ask them if she could have been a victim of the vicious serial killer. They last had contact with Lutricia on September 1, 1988, and never heard from her again. Reports state that Lutricia told them she was leaving to meet a few friends, but she never returned. Whether or not she made her appointment with her friends is unknown.

When her family attempted to report her missing to the Pascagoula police, there was reportedly no investigation into her case.

On August 3, 2013, Esterlyne left her Immokalee residence on Palm Ridge Drive around 8:00 a.m. It’s unclear where she was headed, but it’s speculated that she didn’t intend to be gone for long, considering her personal items, including her purse, identification, and cell phone, were still at her home.

Esterlyne is from Haiti and reportedly moved to Florida years before she went missing. Very few details of her case have been made publicly available, and Esterlyne has never been seen or heard from again.

Authorities continue to seek help from the public to aid them in finding out what happened to a partially blind woman from Miami-Dade County, Florida.

On September 11, 2019, 60-year-old Caroline Norris told her family she was taking a quick trip to her local convenience store. She walked to the location along the 1100 block of Northwest 103rd Street and never returned home. Caroline hasn't been seen or heard from since that time.

“She said, ‘I need my cart.’ I give her the cart, a pushing cart,” Clara Bell Johnson told WSVN in 2019. “She’s pushing the cart because she can’t barely see that good. I said, ‘OK, you come right back.’ She said, ‘I’ll be back,’ and she never came back.”

“Please, Caroline, if you can hear me. This is your sister, and you know I love you. I’m hopeful and I’m hopeful every day,” Johnson added. “I hope someone can give her back to us. Give her back to us.”

“Norris uses a red and black walker, and she has trouble with her vision,” police shared with the public. “When she left the residence, Ms. C. Norris was wearing a long, black wig.”

“Ms. Norris’ family members, alongside Special Victims Bureau detectives, will be seeking the assistance of the community to aid with this investigation,” Detective Lee Cowart stated. Officers, as well as community members, have gone door-to-door, handing out missing-person flyers. “We’ve done the investigative portion of this, and we’ve come up empty-handed.”

While speaking with reporters, Caroline’s daughter, Kimahyer, was understandably upset. “This is totally out of her character. Never has she ever done this before.”

Shirley Harmon was worried. Her 10-year-old daughter, Shakeima Ann Cabbagestalk, didn't come home, so she called her mother, Clara Cabbagestalk, to check if the young girl had spent the night at her grandmother's house.

When Clara told her no, Shirley contacted the authorities. Clara said the last time she saw Shakeima was on July 22, 1993, when Shakeima was playing in her front yard. Clara would later testify that when she looked outside to check on Shakeima, she found her granddaughter gone.

The distraught Shirley spoke with the police while Clara asked her daughter’s husband, Sam Harmon, about the last time he saw Shakeima. Clara would tell a courtroom that Harmon’s response was troubling.

“I ain’t hurt Shakeima. I love her just like Shirley do,” Clara testified Harmon told her.

When questioned by police, Harmon stated that on July 22, he and Shakeima went to the Turning Point Grocery store in their hometown of Dillon, South Carolina. Harmon asserted that he had left his stepdaughter at the store with her brother and hadn’t seen or heard from her since then. Investigators believed Harmon was the last person to see her alive.

Twelve years later, in 2005, prosecutors officially charged Sam Harmon with kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and murder. During their lengthy investigation, police learned that a year prior to her disappearance, Shakeima Ann Cabbagestalk had accused her stepfather of touching her inappropriately.

The Department of Social Services conducted an investigation, but it’s reported that they decided not to move forward because Shakeima’s account of what happened changed multiple times.

Harmon’s trial began in 2008, and according to WBMF News, prosecutors believed that Harmon’s motivation for murdering his stepdaughter was due to the molestation accusations. Although prosecutors initially sought the death penalty, they eventually took the criminal sexual conduct charge off the table and pursued a life sentence in prison. During the trial, Shakeima’s uncle testified that Harmon shared he knew how to dispose of a dead body just weeks after the 10-year-old’s disappearance.

It must be noted that Shakeima’s remains have never been located, there has never been physical evidence to suggest that Shakeima is deceased, and Harmon has always denied involvement in her disappearance. The Charley Project reports that Harmon was convicted of kidnapping but acquitted of murder and became eligible for parole in 2011.

Some of Shakeima’s relatives reportedly believe that she is still alive.

At the time of her disappearance, Shakeima Ann Cabbagestalk stood 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 65 pounds. She had black/brown hair and brown eyes. She also reportedly has a mole near the corner of her mouth and another below her neck. Shakeima has a double tooth on the upper side of her mouth.

The mysterious case involving the disappearance of Tammyetta Michelle Spaulding continues to haunt investigators. It's been almost four years since the Jackson, Mississippi, mother of two had any contact with her loved ones. There are conflicting reports about Tammy's last days, but here is the information I was able to gather.

On September 3, 2016, the 37-year-old took her children to school and then went to work at Comcast. However, she was captured on surveillance cameras at her job, leaving early. WLBT 3 News reported that she wasn’t seen coming or going with anyone, and it’s unknown what prompted her to leave.

That day, Tammy spoke with her father, James Spaulding, on the phone. That’s reportedly the last time anyone spoke with her. There are other reports stating that Tammy was last seen on September 2, when she took her kids to school and visited a payday-lending business.

“The unusual thing is Tammy just disappear and not contact somebody,” said James. “The police said her cell phone had been used just a couple of days after she went missing, but they couldn’t trace that.”

Tammy’s family reported her missing on September 7, not knowing that two days prior, her dark blue 2013 Chevrolet Equinox had been found abandoned behind a gas station close to Savanna Street and I-55 South. The keys to the vehicle were missing. A towing service moved the SUV from the station, and the vehicle was later tracked down by police. The car is currently in possession of the Jackson Police Department.

“Whoever had the car, cleaned it thoroughly,” said James. “No fingerprints, not even Tammy’s fingerprints, were found in the car.”

Then, something strange reportedly happened. A hairdresser named Emma contacted Tammy’s aunt after meeting a woman who claimed to know what happened to Tammyetta. The woman eventually called with disturbing, yet unconfirmed, information regarding the missing woman. Allegedly, Tammy’s death had something to do with an ex-boyfriend who used his “red truck” to dispose of her remains.

“A lady told them they might as well stop looking for their niece because they would never find her,” said Joysteen, Tammyetta’s mother. “Because they used a lot of acid to get rid of the body... The relationship she was in, she was pregnant for one guy and he called it off. She found out another girl was three months pregnant at the time she lost her baby.”

Tammy’s parents are now permanent caregivers to her children. “I’m not supposed to be looking for my child to be dead and gone,” her mother cried out. “My child is supposed to be here to bury me.” Tammy’s father believes the man his daughter was pregnant with was named “Marcus,” but he’s not sure.

Tammyetta Michelle Spaulding: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Tammy was 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 345 pounds. She has brown hair (it was cut short and dyed blonde) and brown eyes. Both of her ears are pierced, and she wears prescription glasses with plastic black frames.

When Tammy was 32-years-old, she suffered a heart attack. Two stents were placed in her main artery. Tammy is also diabetic and needs to take insulin daily. She reportedly didn’t have her medication with her when she disappeared.

It took a year for Monica Denise Jackson to be reported missing. The last time anyone saw the 48-year-old woman was on February 23, 2014, in Savannah, Georgia.

The genteel town is known for its history, landmarks, architecture, and haunted locations, but for years, residents have speculated about what happened to Monica.

Not much information has been made publicly available regarding her case. Still, it’s been reported that she regularly visited certain areas of Savannah, including the 600 block of West 39th Street, the 200 block of West 32nd Street, and Barnard Street.

She also lived around West 34th Street and Jefferson Street in Savannah and frequented the 100 block of Oglesby Avenue in Garden City, Georgia.

In 2019, the Savannah Police Department asked the public for help in gathering information for missing cases in the city, including Monica’s. “These cases have gone cold, but we believe that there is someone in this area who knows something about these disappearances,” said Sgt. Tiffany Manuel.

“We urge anyone with any information to reach out to us. We hope that someone can provide details that will bring answers to their grieving families.”

In the summer of 2007, Contina Savage and her mother spoke before retiring to bed. The following day, the mother went to work without speaking to her daughter, assuming she was asleep at home.

When she returned to her Little Rock, Arkansas, residence later that day, she could not find her 34-year-old daughter. She made phone calls and searched the area, but there was no sign of Contina anywhere.

The concerned mother then filed a missing-person report, but investigators couldn’t pull up any leads either. It’s unknown whether Contina left in the evening while her mother was sleeping, wandered off during the day while she was alone, or was picked up by or met someone.

It has been several years since anyone has had contact with Jordan Kuykendall. Like many cases on OurBlackGirls, Jordan’s is yet another with little to no information.

It has been reported that the 30-year-old was last seen leaving a friend’s residence on Derron Drive in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 21, 2017. Jordan was spotted getting into a dark-colored SUV with tinted windows, but it is unclear whether she or someone else was behind the wheel.

Additionally, no information has been given regarding where Jordan may have been going. Details regarding her family, work, or personal life are also unknown.

At the time of her disappearance, Jordan Antoinette Kuykendall stood 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 120 pounds. She had black/dark brown “collar-length” hair (that she liked to style in a bun) and brown eyes.

Further, Jordan has several tattoos: “Chris” is on the bottom of her left leg; her first name, “Jordan,” is inked on her lower back; on her right shoulder, there’s a tiger on her right thigh; and she has an image of a purple rose with a stem.

She was last seen wearing a pink top with blue jeans with holes in the sides. She stands 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

It's always difficult to report on cases of missing minors. Sometimes, kids in this age group can run away from home only to return. However, some children whom police classify as runaways haven't left their homes voluntarily.

Unfortunately, they're too often dismissed as rebellious kids who took off on their own, and their cases go untouched and unsolved for years. It's unclear what category 13-year-old Jadekiss McNeal falls into, but no one has had contact with the young girl since sometime in 2015 or 2016.

There are a few inconsistencies regarding Jadekiss and her missing person case. A report states the last time her family saw her was in December 2015, in Pensacola, Florida; however, Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan claims a missing person report wasn’t filed until March 2016.

The teen and her older sister, Jasmine Forney, had been living with their grandmother following the death of their mother. According to Jasmine, she last saw Jadekiss on December 21, 2015, sometime in the evening. Jasmine was washing the dishes at her grandmother’s house, and Jadekiss walked outside and sat on the front porch. It didn’t seem unusual, but Jasmine said Jadekiss never returned.

However, another relative reportedly said they saw Jadekiss that evening on the side of the road, near North L Street and Maxwell Street, less than a mile from her home. The teen was said to have been with an unidentified man

About ten days later, Jadekiss’s family claims a mysterious bag was dropped off at their home. They don’t know who put it there, but the bag reportedly contained the clothing Jadekiss McNeal was last seen wearing when she disappeared, along with multiple cellphones. The teen’s family claims they reported Jadekiss missing that day. It’s unclear why they waited for ten days before they alerted authorities to the Jadekiss’s disappearance.

Sheriff Morgan counters the family’s claim. He says police weren’t told about Jadekiss McNeal until March 2016, nearly three months later. The Department of Child and Family Services was doing a regular, standard welfare check because the minors had been placed with a family member.

When DCFS arrived, Jadekiss couldn’t be located, and she was reported missing. Additionally, authorities further stated that it wasn’t until 2018 that they were given this mysterious bag with Jadekiss’s clothing and phones. That’s two years after the official missing person report was filed. When police questioned Jadekiss’s grandmother about the bag, she reportedly told them it was just old clothes, not the ones she wore when she vanished.

It’s reported that Jadekiss’s family has “reached out for help from Milton Search and Rescue, a nonprofit without any affiliation to Santa Rosa County government services or any local law enforcement agency.” Some believe that Jadekiss is a runaway who traveled to Las Vegas or Louisiana. The teen’s family continues to search for her, and none of Jadekiss’s relatives are named as suspects or persons of interest in her case.

Things were getting tense at home for Samatha Elizabeth Baremore. She and her boyfriend, Cedrick Bobby Lemon, lived together in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, but it wasn’t a peaceful dwelling. The 24-year-old had told loved ones she was considering leaving Lemon, but it looks like she never got the chance.

It was in the Spring of 2004 when Samatha went missing. On April 6, she finished her shift at the Sugar Bares VIP Club, where she was employed as an exotic dancer, and left early in the morning. Samatha received a ride home from the Willard Cab Company, a taxi service, and has never been in contact with her loved ones since then.

The Family Leans Samatha Is Missing

Samatha’s family wasn’t even aware that she was missing until days later. Because Samatha didn’t have a vehicle, she relied on public transportation, taxicabs, friends, or family members for rides around town.

On April 8, Samatha’s sister went to the club where she worked to pick her up, but was told she wasn’t there. She returned the next day and learned that Samatha hadn’t returned to work in a few days. On April 10, Samatha’s family filed a missing person report.

When questioned, Lemon admitted that his relationship with Samatha wasn’t a walk in the park. He reportedly said that he did see his girlfriend on the morning that she went missing, but he wasn’t responsible for her disappearance. Lemon claims that she returned home and that they argued because he made it clear he didn’t intend to marry her. Samatha allegedly told him she was leaving to pick up a newspaper to begin her hunt for a new place to live, but she never returned.

“We had a few words. We didn’t leave on good terms,” Lemon reportedly said. “She has left before and maybe gone and stayed away for a couple of days... And I thought maybe this was one of them.”

Samatha’s relatives took to the streets to see if anyone had seen or heard from the missing woman. They visited exotic clubs, hotels, talked to residents, and distributed flyers. When they visited her apartment, they reportedly saw her belongings, including her dance bag, packed up near the door. They were adamant that she would never leave that behind if she left of her own accord.

A Concerned Mother Shares Her Story

Barbara Ashe has a mother’s instincts, and while other parents believe their children are alive out there somewhere, she thinks Samatha has passed away.

“I just feel in my heart that she’s no longer here,” she said. Samatha was the mother of a young daughter when she vanished, and Barbara insisted that Samatha would never take off without contacting her loved ones.

“I truly feel my child is dead,’‘ Barbara told the Winston-Salem Journal. “And I just would like to have her remains.”

Samatha’s Employer Saw Her Leave

Bob Evans, the manager of Sugar Bares, told a reporter that he saw her leave the club on April 6. Some dancers reportedly said they saw Samatha arguing with an unidentified man in the parking lot. However, Winston-Salem Police would later issue a statement stating Samatha was alone when she got into the taxi the morning she went missing.

Lemon and Samatha met in 1999 at a nightclub where he worked as a bouncer. They didn’t begin a romantic relationship until 2003. Following his girlfriend’s disappearance, Lemon was reportedly arrested on a probation violation. He claimed that authorities questioned him about Samatha for hours, took a blood sample, and even gave him a polygraph test. Police wouldn’t confirm or deny his allegations.

Samantha Baremore: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Samantha stood 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 115 pounds. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She kept her makeup and outfits in a black bag with colored ballerina patterns.

Samantha also has a tattoo of her deceased father’s name on her thigh. Her family nickname is “Pinky,” and her stage name is “Sunshine.” Some outlets have spelled her first name as “Samantha” and her last name as “Barremore,” “Barenmore,” or “Barrenmore.”

For decades, no one has come closer to concluding what happened to Kimberly Hendrix on April 8, 1993 (some agencies have her missing person date listed as April 7). It was around 2:40 a.m. when the 26-year-old was seen in Gurdon, Arkansas, as a police officer spotted her. According to reports, Kimberly Hendrix was with two men. However, the description of those men hasn't been made publicly available.

Yolanda’s Last Known Movements

It’s reported that Yolanda Boyland may have been staying with her sister at the time of her disappearance. For some unknown reason, Yolanda either became angry or got into an argument with her sister, causing her to storm out of the home.

It’s unclear where she was headed, if she planned on meeting up with another person, or if she had a cell phone that could be tracked by authorities. What has been reported is that Yolanda was never seen or heard from after she walked out of her sister’s residence, leaving investigators puzzled and her family deeply concerned.

In an unrelated incident in 2013, Yolanda’s then-12-year-old niece Kimmiracle Langston suffered devastating news after the little girl’s father, 43-year-old William Langston, reportedly murdered his wife and Kimmiracle’s mother, 35-year-old Kimberly Langston. William Langston was later arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter.

No matter what someone’s background is, they deserve to be protected. While Danielle Mouton lived a lifestyle considered “high-risk,” that doesn’t mean her story shouldn’t be shared.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Danielle Mouton was 24 years old when she was last seen on August 2, 2010, in Seattle, Washington. Reports state that it’s unclear who the young mother was with when she was last seen, but it was known that Danielle was homeless and involved with prostitution and drug abuse. Throughout the years, Danielle’s family has held out hope that she will one day return home.

“It’s likely that some of the people who knew her, and she was pretty well known in the downtown area, likely someone might have their memories intact and might be willing to come forward with information,” Tacoma Police Detective Lindsey Wade said back in 2017. “The fact that she’s been gone for over seven years, we suspect something bad happened to her.”

Investigators believe that Danielle Mouton met with foul play or may have been kidnapped. However, how they came to those conclusions hasn’t been shared with the public. Further, it was stated that Danielle was known to frequent the Glacier Motel on Pacific Highway East in Fife, Washington.

This case came across my desk after a woman who claimed to be Jeannette Marie Lamb's stepsister emailed me. She asked that her sister's missing-person case be highlighted here on Our Black Girls, and I wanted to do what I could to help.

According to reports, the 31-year-old was last seen at a relative's home in Phoenix, Arizona (in the 5300 block of West Campbell Street near 51st Avenue) shortly after the New Year, on January 10, 2002.

A Look At Jeannette’s Personal Life

Jeannette, a mother of three boys who were young at the time of her disappearance, was close with her family. While it’s reported that there were certain times when she may have gone quiet and not been in contact with her loved ones for a few days, she would always resurface.

On the day she disappeared, it’s reported that an unidentified man in a white pickup truck picked Jeannette up from her relative’s home, and that was the last interaction her family had with her. No public reports have given any descriptions of the man in question.

When she couldn’t get in contact with Jeannette for 30 days, the missing woman’s sister officially filed a report with authorities.

Little information is known about Jeannette’s case, and news reports are scarce, if not absent altogether. Investigators believe she was the victim of foul play.

Jeannette Marie Lamb: What To Know

At the time of her disappearance, Jeannette Marie Lamb stood 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 170 pounds. She had black/dark brown hair and brown eyes. Jeannette has several tattoos: “Gladys” on her left hand, “Davionta” on her breast, “J-Dogg” on her right forearm decorated with flowers, and “Cecil” on her leg.

She was reportedly last seen wearing black jeans, a black “Prime Trucking” coat, and a green Army hat. Her name has also been spelled “Jeanette” in some reports.
